Privacy Policy

Stick ("Stick," "we," "our," or "us") operates the Stick mobile application (the "App"), a social golf scorecard. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

The short version: Stick is a social app, so the rounds you log, your profile, and who you follow are visible to other users. We do not run ads, we do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and we never sell your personal information. You can delete your account and all of your data at any time from the app.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account information. Stick uses Sign in with Apple. When you sign in, Apple shares your name and an email address (which may be a private relay address if you choose to hide your real one). You choose a public handle and display name.
Profile details. Any bio, home course, and profile photo (avatar) you choose to add. These are optional.
Golf content. The rounds you log — including course, date played, tee, and hole-by-hole scores — along with any photos and captions you attach to a round.
Social activity. The accounts you follow, and the likes, comments, and attestations you leave on rounds.
Courses you add. If you add a course that isn't in our directory, the course details you submit are stored and may be shown to other users after review.

Information collected automatically

Basic technical data. Our backend records the minimal operational data needed to run the service, such as record timestamps and the account associated with each action. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Photos and media

Stick asks for photo-library access so you can choose a profile photo or attach photos to a round, and for permission to save the shareable round graphics you create back to your library. We only access the specific photos you select — we do not scan or upload your photo library.

How We Use Your Information

To create and maintain your account and profile.
To provide the App's core features: logging rounds, following friends, feeds, leaderboards, and shareable graphics.
To display your rounds, profile, and stats to you and to other users as described below.
To moderate content and keep the community safe (for example, handling reports and blocks).
To communicate with you about your account or important changes to the service.

Information That Is Public

Stick is a social product. The following is visible to other users of the App by default:

Your handle, display name, bio, home course, and avatar.
The rounds you log, including scores, courses, dates, and any photos or captions.
Your placement on course leaderboards, and who you follow and who follows you.

Please keep this in mind when deciding what to post. Your Apple email address is not shown to other users.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We share information only in these limited cases:

Service providers. We use Supabase to host our database, authentication, and file storage. Supabase processes your data on our behalf to operate the App. See supabase.com/privacy.
Apple. Sign in with Apple, and any purchases made through the App, are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.
Other users. As described in "Information That Is Public" above.
Legal reasons. If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Stick and its users.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the App. Deleting your account removes your profile and cascades to delete your rounds, photos, follows, likes, comments, and attestations. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Backups and logs that may contain residual data are purged on a routine cycle.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with our infrastructure provider using access controls (row-level security) that restrict each user to their own data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

International Users

Stick is operated for users in Canada and the United States. Your information may be stored and processed on servers located in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

Children's Privacy

Stick is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your Choices and Rights

You can view and edit your profile in the App, control what you post, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To make a request, contact us at the address below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the App or on this page.
